The Lucy Letters is a collection of letters written by Mrs. Lucy Derrick-Swindells, a native of England who moved to America in 1921. These letters share interesting scenes of the times from 1925 through the early 1930's. They share the joys and struggles of one woman's life as she tries to carve out a living as an artist, a writer, a poet, and a mother. The letters come from a series of notebooks which the author kept to write first drafts of her correspondence to friends, family, and businesses. These letters are mostly in chronological order - although occasionally newspaper clippings, older letters, and miscellaneous notes which may not be dated will be shared as well. All of these items patch together an illustration of the intriguing life of Mrs. Lucy Derrick-Swindells.
